wow!! I am impressed that you were able to get a warp on without directions. I agree with Maria, you can use cardboard or you can use other items like rag strips (my favorite) or even paper including toliet tissue. You always put something in as a header to straighten out the warp threads.
In answer to your question of where do I go from here, my answer would be to the nearest live weaving guild. There you can find people who will be glad to help you learn. Do you have a local Guild or one within driving distance? If you don't know of a guild you can go to the Handweaver's Guild of America's site (http://www.weavespindye.org/)for a list of guilds.
If you can't find guild, the next best thing is a good book. I would recommend a book like Debrorah Chandler's Learning to Weave. It will be a great help.
