I am a weaver in midwest Michigan, near Muskegon. I am self-taught and slow, have MS and can only do a few minutes a day sometimes. I am looking for other weavers, too. Tried the email for Grand Rapids Handweavers Guild but received no answer. I believe the Kalamazoo Guild is quite active, check address through Handweavers Guild of America site (weavespindye.org), you might find another closer to you.
