Contact Eileen Hallman at New World Textiles (Specializing in Cotton) ... look for her ad in Spin-Off or call 828/669-1870. She sells all kinds of cotton and cotton blends, she teaches cotton spinning and weaving, and she's a great person!

Starting with cotton, try one of the blends ... cotton Lyocel or rayon is a good one. I recommend this because cotton has a very short staple and it can be tricky until you get a feel for it. Spin it tight ... very tight, and spin it fine. I've found that the long draw works best with cotton. And no matter what, don't give up!

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Johanna
