I'm a largely self-taught weaver...it can be done, but of course it's easier if one has a teacher. First, I'll suggest Deborah Chandler's "Learning to Weave" book. I got mine used from Amazon...well worth the money. Her instructions a pictures are very simple. If you have a weaving guild in your area, you might check that out too.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Weaving/ is one of the groups on the net, with wonderful helpful people who are quick to answer questions and refer us to links.
Also check your local library for books...read all you can!

It's hard to explain anything in an email, but if I can help any way, drop me a line.

Sincerely,
Dot Smith
