I just saw your post. I have quite a bit of experience with Canadian Production Wheels. The whorl at the end of the flyer often becomes pretty stuck with old grease. The most important piece of information is that the whorl is threaded opposite from usual. That is, it loosens by turning it toward the RIGHT and not toward the left. Spray the whorl near the shaft with WD-40 oil. This is a cleaner as well as an oil. After spraying, put the piece aside for about 1/2 hour and let the oil go to work. Then gently work the whorl toward the right. Don't use the arm of the flyer for leverage or you can snap it off. Grasp the flyer near the orefice where the wood is thickest. If it won't budge, spray again and let it sit again. It once took me nearly a week to get one to unscrew. Usually, it will come off in one or two sprays. I can give you the name of someone who can build you a bobbin. Email me privately for his name. Let me know if I can help you in any other way. Jessie
