Hi Charles,

The Jensen Tina 2 is a very nice wheel. It can handle both double drive and scotch tension, which means it is versital. In addition to the whorls that come with the wheel, additional sizes up or down are available. This is a plus because it means that the wheel is expandable to spin a wider range of yarn weights and types from lace weight through bulky. This wheel also has a relatively small size making it more portable to go to meetings, classes or just move around in the house, however, it is stable enough that it stays where you put it. (Some small wheels "walk" around when you are spinning on them.) I had a Tina 2 for a number of years and only sold it due to my health issues. I heartily endorse and suggest this wheel for your wife's gift; it is a wheel that will give her many years of excellant service and be expandable as her expertise increases.

Best wishes,
Kim Desko
