Well, ths weekend, I called the local fiber shop, and lo and behold, the shop had the walnut finished one in stock.
I bought it immediately and yes, it is a dream to spin on! We got all the sqeaks waxed and the places to lubricate oiled, and everything works fine and smooth.
I've got a bag on order.
I'm really glad I bought it!
