I think I talked to your husband last year about this loom. I've got 2 26" wood framed looms here and I could see about duplicating the cranks for you. They are simple 1/4" rod bent at 2 90 degree angles with a threaded tube (coupling) pinned to the end. This coupleing is threaded just like the end of the beams and they are interchangeable. The coupling looks like it could be replaced with a piece of plumbing pipe from the local hardware store.
The handle is about 1 1/4" including the coupling, then about 3 1/2" for the lever arm, and then another 2" for the crank handle.
One note, these darn things stick out and EVERY time you walk by, you'll hit them! Don't leave them sit on the floor because they are at ankle height. Don't ask me how I know.
If this is the loom I'm thinking of, you have 8 harnesses. Do you also have the leg system for it? If not, I can send pictures and plans for him.
