Check out Northwest Looms. I have two of their "Frieda" looms and they are just wonderful. THey are also far less expensive than the Leclerc, Schacht and other comparable models. THey start at 8 inch weaving at around $350 and go up to an 18" for $425. They are hand-built when you order them, and they are ALL 8 harness. Even the crate that Tony ships them in is a work of art. You just can't do better....I have used my two (I got the 15-in) back and forth to my summer teaching classes, workshops, in and out of the studio and, in short, they lead a hard life! and they have held up beautifullly. Not as heavy as the others, either, but very sturdy! At some point I plan to buy one of the little 8-inch size.
