Yes...I am planning to take classes specifically for these kind of floor looms...I have also heard of Becky Ashenden's courses. I have a Glimakra distributor close by (sort of...a day drive) that will give a free course with the purchase of the loom in her studio too...I may decide to do both.
I am planning to get a 12shaft/59" Vertical Countermarsch Standard Glimakra...that will give me the possibility of a combination drawloom when I feel more confident with my loom :-)
I will also consider the jack looms you both mention....I have indeed heard that they can be quite noisy and a lot of work to treadle....
...I am usually the type of person that would take a challenge and love to try to figure things out - so I really don't feel to scared about moving right into a loom like a countermarch....I just already expect to need extra time and patience :-)...
