I had the dryad tapestry loom, and I can give a couple of insights...i don't know if they're still made, but dryads are relatively old, beautiful, but mine was peg construction and made of very old pine. As such, some joints were just not tight/unsteady and there were a number of splinters as well...I ended up putting some bolts in to stabilize it. The harnesses produced a relatively small shed. Also, the beater/reed assembly uses a track with a couple of springs, like an old drawer. This mechanism just didn't seem to work well, and I was very careful to rarely use it. The tissart seems to have a different counterweight to the reed/beater mechanism, and though the track system is problematic, it looks like it would work better. Also the hardware and maple construction would be a better choice. Hope this helps --debbie
