Lots of linty fluff, cat hair and the like can get gummed up in old sticky oil. Vacuum and brush the "works" below and above the harnesses and use whatever lubricant the manufacturer recommends on the moving parts. Don't forget to put newspapers down to catch the drips. Make sure that no foreign objects have fallen in and are hanging up in there catching on stuff.
