~1. Try them ALL
~2. The more you spend on a wheel, the less you have to spend on fiber. (unless you are independently wealthy)
~3. Settle on the one YOU are comfortable with.
~4. YOU are the 'part' of the spinning wheel that puts too much twist in the yarn. New spinners have this awful, almost uncontrolable urge, to treadle waaay too fast.
~5. Remember, I think it was Spin-Off or maybe SS&D that did a spinners survey and statistics show that spinners own, on average, 2.3 spinning wheels. That gives you the necessary 'right' to own more than one.
~6. Find a guild. They will have a variety of wheels represented for you too look at. A shop has wheels to 'sell' you, meaning they have an ulterior motive. Always.
~7. Figure out how to make it all fun. Life is too short not to enjoy all the different fibers that have been provided for spinners to play with!
