I have owned and spun on a lot of wheels over the 20 years I have been spinning and I would recommend the Jensen Tina II. It is double treadle, lots of speed choices, easy to learn on. They are a bit pricey but it is the kind of wheel that you would be content with for life. Easy to transport too. A good entry level double treadle wheel is the Ashford Kiwi. I would definitely get a double treadle if you can afford one. It is the difference of riding a bike using one foot instead of both feet. Easier to treadle when going slow.
Just be careful, spinning is extremely addictive!!
