I am currently restoring a Tools of the Trade table loom. Structurally, it seems in good condition, but the finish is in bad need of repair. So I am taking it apart, sanding and refinishing with Watco Oil. I will also replace the stained cloth aprons.
Now my questions for anyone who has one of these looms: How are your beams secured to the loom? On the cloth beam, this loom has a large head screw that prevents the beam from just sliding out; the warp beam has no screw, either because it was lost or because that is not the proper way of securing the beam - it is just tied with cord to keep it from sliding out through the hole in the upright. Also, on the end of each beam that protrudes through the castle upright, there is a large (1/2 inch or so) hole drilled through the beam - is there something that is supposed to be there? Any chance that someone has a photo and/or manual for this loom? Thanks.
