I have a 72" Cranbrook. The treadles are in the center and they lock to hold the shed open.
When weaving that wide you have several options. Locking treadles so you can keep the shed open as you walk from one side to other throwing and catching. If you don't have locking treadles; have a friend help or get a flying shuttle beater attachment. A wide bench with a rolling seat could also be a huge help if you plan to weave alone and don't want to stand/walk the whole time.
I say go for it!! Are you considering a specific loom, or are you shopping around?
