I bought a bexell Cranbrook loom that was stored in a barn. I saw the mildew on it but did not think it was a problem as I have battled it before on wood. My plan was to clean it with bleach and water and then put Howard's Restore a Finish on it to bring it back to life. I have used this product before and have gotten great results. The bleach made the stain darker so I tried wood bleach. When I put the restore a finish on, the parts that are bare wood turn very dark and I can't get it off. Any ideas of how to get the mildew stain off? I am now looking at sanding and revarnishing it. Help!
