Drive Belt Tension

Make sure that your drive belt doesn't slip excessively because it's worn or dirty. Trying to fix a slipping belt by increasing the tension, causes excessive force and friction on the bearings. This can significantly increase the amount of effort required to treadle. Replace your belts and use the minimum drive belt tension tomake your treadling more enjoyable.
