Brenda,
The Deb Chandler and the Mary Black books are the two I recommend for my beginning weaving students. You mentioned that your loom was a floor loom, but you didn't say how many shafts and treadles. What do you want to weave on your loom. If you are thinking about rugs then there is a whole bunch of rug books that you can get. If you have 4 shafts and are thinking about pattern weaving then Davison Handweavers pattern book is a must. You don't say where you are located, but the next thing to do is to hook up with a local weaving guild. THe members can give you direction about further references and give you help with technical questions. Fellow guild members are a great resource. ALso the guild will probably have many books that you can access in their library to TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. Good luck in your weaving endeavors and if you are ever in Omaha, feel free to stop by and see me and my studio.
Sharon
