Linda:

Iam in a guild in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have woven for 2 years now at our guild on Baby wolfs, a Dorset, and a Macomber. I agree wtih prior follow-up advice re Mighty Wolf. The Schacht looms have good brakes, easy tie-ups with cords to the treadles, options such as the stroller already mentioned- but also a castle for above the loom to hold items, etc. The width of the Mighty Wolf (36") is ideal if you wish to do panels for table linens, yardage for clothing, panels for cutains, etc. Of course, you can also do smaller widths (for scarves, placemats, etc.) Schact also sells a great bench wtih adjustables heights. I agree that 8H is the way to go. You don't need to use all 8 obviously depending on your draft, but when you want a more complex weave- you've got the harnesses and treadles.
If you ahve the oportunity to purchase one in good condition, I'd definitely look into it.
