I'd suggest that you first measure out a 17 yard piece of thread and put it on the warping board to determine whether it has the capacity to hold it. If it fits, fine.

If not - depending on how much extra length you need - I'd clamp the board to a table at one end of the room and clamp a wooden rod somewhere at the other end of the room and warp using the board and the rod to make the length you need. It will involve some walking back and forth, but hey, we all need more exercise, right?

The other suggestion would be to borrow a warping mill from someone. You'd only need it for a day.
