Thanks, Susan. I hadn't heard of the sandblasting idea, but it sounds good. I just wondered if there was a quick, easy way to do this nasty job. Oh, wait. There is. 1)Take old, rusty reed. 2) Chuck in garbage. 3) Buy stainless reed.
A weaver friend of mine said you can also put an extra 1/2 yd. of warp on, and use that to help clean the reed. Go up and down with that yarn.
