Hi Allen ... the Kyra loom was manufactured in Buffalo, NY. It was a cherry jack loom that folded. I had a few friends that owned Kyra looms and they were very happy with them ... smooth, easy action.

Their folding method was similar to the Sabina folding looms from the 30s and 40s ... that is, the frame that holds the warp between the back and breast beams remained rigid and pivoted down to fold, and the support legs folded in.

The few Kyras that I have seen in need of repair, seem to need the font or back leg supports ... which shouldn't be a difficult fix. As long as the loom you're inspecting was taken care of, you should have no problem with it. Good luck.
