I agree with the Ott light - they are highly prized by fiber people for their ability to show "true to life' colors. It would be a great present. That said, as another option for you, I have a Schacht loom that has a hole in the top of the castle, and I found a gooseneck lamp that, when I took off the base, has a little "post" that fits the hole in the castle. I absolutely love it, because I can move the light easily in front of or behind the heddles for threading the loom. My loom is in a pretty tight space, and it's hard to get a floor lamp moved around to the front and the back of the loom as often as I need to move it- with the the gooseneck lamp I can move the light quickly wherever I need it. I liked it so much that I drilled another hole on the other side of the castle and put another gooseneck lamp on that side, too. You might ask (or hint!) to see type of lighting your wife might find more useful for her weaving.
