I just got my used drum carder back from the manufacturer where I got new carding cloth installed. He told me that the used carder I had bought looked okay but had been used hard, was worn out and damaged. There were worn bearings, a damaged small drum and the whole thing was worn and loose. I ended up paying as much for the repairs, new carding cloth (and shipping back and forth from California)to buy a new one. Save up and buy new, or buy from a friend...
