Yes, the book by Paula Simmons has plans for a drum carder. We had posted this a while ago. My wife was overwhelmed by hundreds of responses to her old email account within days and just wasn't able to reply to everyone-she learned a hard lesson about the world wide web and the power of search engines.
The book is : Spinning and Weaving with Wool
by Paula Simmons * Pacific Search Press *
ISBN # 0-914718-28-2
ISBN # 0-914718-23-1 pbk.
Copyright 1977, printings in 1978, 1980, 1981, 1982.
drum carder plans are on pp 33-38.
The book also has plans for hand cards (pp 22-23), yarn blocker (pp 108-109) floor skeining reel for two yard skeins (pp 142-143), "tree" style umbrella swift (p 179), small spindle type spinning wheel (similar to those used in China around 500 A.D. pp 145-150) and floor loom (48-in., 4-harness counterbalanced loom) and a warping reel (pp 203-204).
A good source for carding cloth is the Howard Brush company, they have an online website
www.howardbrush.com
Hope that this is helpful.
