They don't publish any manuals or anything. The assumption is that only experienced weavers buy into Macombers. Here's what I did when I had to re-assemble the brake: first I called them and they sent a picture of the assembly. Unfortunately, it was a friction brake and mine is a ratchet. Step two, I located a Macomber owner in my area and went over and looked at how the brake went together...even took a picture. This works. Are there any guilds in your area? Perhaps somebody could show you how their very, very peculiar tie-up works. Did you get a set of long metal rods with a bend at one end and a sort of curved top? The curved part goes over the lamm, you slip the rod into the slot on the treadle and turn it slightly so that it stays put. I have had problems with them falling out. so it goes. The older lamms have little holes in them and they used to sell a different rod that slipped into the holes then into the treadle. I tried those, since I have a mix of older and newer lamms, but they were not easy to use. The tieup on the Macomber is, in fact, a (rhymes with witch). BUT, they are still some of the best manual looms on the market!!!!!
