Wanted: Instruction manual for Union Victory Loom by Union Loom Works, Boonville, NY. (Might also be known as a Union 36 loom?)

I was just given a "new" loom but unfortunately, it was not assembled and there was no instruction/assembly manual. I think I've got most of it bolted together properly, but something doesn't look right in the warp beam / warp beam brake area. Also, there seems to be a rectangular cross-section board wood screwed to the back of the loom about 2ft under the back bar. It has staples on both sides. Anyone have an idea for its use?
