Hi!
I am planning to buy a floor loom (I have been learning to weave on a rigid heddle loom for a while). I want something versatile, wide enough...a loom that I can consider a good investment (that is, I don't really want to purchase many looms overtime, but find "the one" :-)).
I have been considering the Glimakra Standard and the Cranbrook Countermarch...but, while I hunt for weaving studios in my area to check them out in person, could more advance weavers that use these looms kindly share what can they weave on them? I want to be able to weave pretty much anything on my floor loom. I understand that the Cranbrook can allow me to weave rugs and tapestries quite successfully due to its treadle lock mechanism....what about the Glimakra? Does anyone use a drawloom for the Glimakra and what have you woven with it?
I will be having a fiber studio at home next year (finally!), so space is not a constraint....
Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Happy weaving,Akiko
