Anna,

What about the Norwood loom. I am familiar with the Norwood 22" 4 shaft direct tie up loom that was made in the 80's early 90's in Michigan. I would assume when Toika took over they kept the same specs....however now it looks like they are just offering 30" and 40" wide looms. It also looks like most places that are listed as their dealers. (yarnbarn in KS and webs for another are closing them out. I have never heard of anything negative about them. The smaller ones were light weight and if you want them for a workshop that is great....if you want them to weave heavier mats that can be problematic.
And as far as my blanket statement about Harrisville......I just know a couple of people who have picked up used ones (wider than 30") who have had some problems with some warping of the wood on the warp beam giving tension problems. and as you can see from previous postings people with earlier models of harrisville are not necessarily getting support from HD with information regarding these used looms. I have used LeClerc, Schacht, Gilmore, Purrington, AVL, macomber and Oxaback looms...I have owned in the past a Toika....so I am familiar with most looms that you can buy used.
GOOD LUCK,
Sharon
