Relax, everybody has one selvedge better than another. Make sure you are handling the shuttle the same way with either hand, thumb above, fingers below, or whatever. See that you are centered on the loom, make sure the warp is evenly tensioned - a loose selvedge on one side will not resist the pull of the weft as well and will tend to draw in. If you are sitting next to a wall or lamp or something, you may be unconciously dodging the furniture and shortening your throw. You can try breaking your yarn and re-starting the shuttle from the other side. Sometimes this helps because the edge thread that was up before, is now down or vice versa. This usually makes a bigger difference on Jack looms than on Counterbalanced looms becauses on Jack looms one shed or the other is looser.
