You can use it as a double drive rather than scotch tension. That is how I use mine. Ashford double drive bobbins work if you need addtional bobbins. Not sure if you can get a tension knob from Ashford that will work, might want to give it a try since some of the later Wee Peggy's were made by Ashford.
